Dot still hasn't turned. So my c-section is booked for Tuesday 11th October! Very exciting. B has booked his 2 weeks off. He'll be able to move it if she does turn which is good.
I can't decide if I want her to turn now or not. It's really nice knowing exactly when she'll be here. I'm also getting pretty uncomfortable now. Haven't slept for more that 2 hours at a time for about 2 weeks. It'll be nice having a reason to be waking up when she does arrive. On the other hand recovery from a c-section takes longer and I also won't experience a "proper birth." Though my friends tell me that's a a good thing I still feel like I'll be missing something.
On another note. Why are all leggings now see through? Is it just me buying cheap leggings? Haven't had a pair for ages that I can wear with anything above my bum, unless I want to flash my pants at people. Which I refuse to do when I'm out of the house. Probably because I know how awful it looks seeing people around Leiston who obviously don't care.
It's just wrong.

Both of my sons were c-section. DS1 was too big (at 9 lbs.), so after a long, difficult labor where his shoulders were wedged in my pelvis and he wasn't coming down, it was an emergency c-section. With DS2 I had full placenta previa, so labor was too risky. I didn't feel as though I missed out on anything. The goal is healthy baby & mommy. And if you have a good surgeon who takes his/her time stitching you up, recovery is easier than you might think. With DS1 I felt sore for about a week. My sister was sore much longer after "natural" births, as she tore each time; stitches in your tummy are easier than stitches lower down.
ReplyDeleteAs for getting better sleep at this stage, have you tried propping lots of pillows so that you're half sitting up to sleep? I spent the last few months sleeping that way, and it helped.

Thank you, that's reassuring. I was thinking I would be sore for weeks like when I had my op before. I guess it was a bigger incision. And I had general anesthetic which took a lot of recovery time.

Yes I'm very thankful for the NHS. I had read before that was the price for vaginal birth and a c-section was double that. Still quite cheap compared to the USA though

hi sweetie good luck to you and B for Tuesday hope everything goes well for you all and try not to worry to much about whether you have to have a C-section or normal birth because either way it really doesn't matter how Dot gets here the main this is that you will soon forget anything about the birth as you will be to busy looking at baby Dot and counting all her fingers and toes lol and be to busy making a nice motherly bond with her either way you take care and make sure B spoils you lol and cant wait to meet my baby granddaughter once she's here love to you and B xx
